Don Phillips started Phillips Seed Farms in 1985.  He had a passion for agriculture and an entrepreneurial spirit.   Don built a portable seed cleaner and would travel around the midwest to custom clean seed.  As the demand for this service grew customers began traveling to him.  Don bought his grandparent’s farm which is now the location of our main facility.  As the business continued to grow, Phillips began packaging and selling seed as well as expanding his product line.  Over the years, Don purchased a facility in Assaria, Kansas and later one in Tescott, Kansas.

 

In April 2010, Don passed away unexpectedly.  His daughter, Allison, took over as owner after his passing.  Over the years, Phillips Seed has continued to grow its product line, services and footprint in the midwest.

 

In December 2023, a joint ownership between Allison, Jordan Huggans and Brent Halepeska began.  Phillips Seed is excited for the future as we embark on our 40th year in business.
